Belleville Straight Leg Jeans — Blue Washed

The wash

Washed rather than raw, and deliberately so. A raw jean asks for six months of commitment before it looks like anything; this one arrives already soft enough to wear daily and already broken in through the knee and seat. What it doesn't have is manufactured damage — no rips, no sanded patches, no whiskering drawn on to imitate wear that hasn't happened. The wash is even and honest, and the fades you add from here are your own.

11oz denim

Mid-weight, which is the useful range for a jean you'll wear through a British winter. Lighter denim goes shapeless; heavier denim is a commitment. At 11oz it holds a clean vertical line down the leg and still moves.

The fit

Straight from the knee down with a mid rise and room through the thigh to sit comfortably without going wide. The straight cut is the most forgiving silhouette in denim — it suits more body shapes than a slim, it sits properly over a boot, and it doesn't date the way a trend cut does.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out. Hang to dry. Wash sparingly — denim holds its colour and its shape far better the less often it goes in the machine.
